About Us

Vision therapy is an individual treatment program prescribed to improve ocular conditions such as crossed eyes (Strabismus) or lazy eye (Amblyopia) and to help the individual learn, relearn or reinforce specific vision skills.  Such skills include eye movement control, focusing control, eye coordination and teamwork of both eyes.  The act of reading is one of the most demanding of these learned skills.

Vision therapy has proven to be an effective treatment for many problems that cannot be treated with eyeglasses or contact lenses alone.  While complete success is not guaranteed, much of the improvement depends on the patient's willingness to follow the optometrist's prescribed instructions.   For those who do so, significant progress toward more efficient and comfortable vision usually results. This significantly effects functions like reading, other job related activities and sports.
