Dr. Seth M. Gerchberg was born and raised in New York City and attended Earlham College in Indiana.  He served in the United States Army and the Army Reserves between 1958 and 1963. Dr. Gerchberg received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1965. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society and the College of Vision Development.  Dr. Gerchberg has been in private practice with offices in  Harrisburg and Camp Hill since 1979.  

In addition to general optometry, Dr. Gerchberg specializes in the fitting of contact lenses, dry eye treatment and pediatric examinations.

Dr. Lora J. Smith is originally from New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in 1991 and another Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Sciences from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the PA College of Optometry in 1995. She has trained with contact lens specialists in Harrisburg, pediatric physicians in Philadelphia, and in pathology/geriatric medicine at Lyons VA Medical Center in New Jersey. She has served as a clinical consultant for diabetic literature with a leading pharmaceutical company.

Dr. Smith joined us in May 1999 after spending four years in private practice in New Jersey. In addition to primary care, her professional interests include the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and pink eye. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and currently serves as an officer in the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society. Dr. Smith participates in many optometric education programs at elementary and secondary schools in the area.

Dr. Smith stays active in the Alumni Associations of her alma maters via Executive Alumni Committees and does recruiting for Delaware Valley College. In her spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband, Kirk, son, Michael and dog, Cash. She is also involved in recreational volleyball and biking.

Mario Saracino studied at Broome Community College and the State University of New York at Binghamton where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology (2000). He went on to earn his Doctorate of Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry in Columbus, Ohio (2004). Along with his O.D., he also obtained a Master of Science in Vision Science. This dual degree program allowed him to participate with the development and analysis of many research projects focusing on the science behind the human visual system. Dr. Saracino and his colleagues' work have been featured in top optometric and ophthalmologic journals such as Optometry and Vision Science and Archives of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Saracino enjoys primary eye care, contact lens fitting, ocular disease and pediatric evaluations. He also enjoys research and will be working on bringing clinical trials in the field of optometry to the practice in the coming years.

Outside of work, Dr. Saracino enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, walking/running and visiting with family from Upstate New York.
