Did You Know?…

January 15, 2015

…that 50% of parents do not regularly provide their children with adequate sun protection for their eyes?

BUT

82% of parents believe it is important for children to wear sunglasses with full UV protection!

The facts:
Children’s eyes are more susceptible to UV damage.
Children tend to spend more time outdoors than adults.
Children tend to spend a lot of time in places that reflect the sun into the eyes such as beaches, pools, and amusement parks.

Sun damage is cumulative which means you must start protecting the eyes when they are young.

Also, buying the proper sunglasses will not do any good if your child does not wear them. Make sure they fit and are comfortable.
